I just posted a thread on a photo report for the Pool and Spa at IC Berchtesgaden in the Europe forum, and thought some of you might be interested in it.

I stayed here a couple of weeks ago, and have generally good things to say. I had a nice room overlooking the alps (the views on different sides of the hotel are all spectacular, of course, though different). The room was equipped with a gas fireplace, floor-to-ceiling doors that open, and a great, huge rain shower. The lobby has a large real fireplace with large windows.
The food and beverage seemed outstanding. Unfortunately I only ate the breakfast buffet, which was wonderful, with a great variety of cheeses, meats, hot and cold dishes, and local favorites (I assume), but they also have a traditional Bavarian restaurant, Michelin-starred French restaurant, and a great bar.
The pool is both indoors and outdoors with an automatic sliding glass door in the middle, as Jet2K's photos show. I have never seen anything like this, but enjoyed it. (They have jets blowing warm air just inside, I suppose to prevent it from fogging up.) The spa also has several nice saunas/steam rooms.
A few down-sides: Royal Ambassador benefits were minimal. They said that they upgraded my room, but it was unclear to what. The mini-bar has only non-alcoholic beverages. I was unclear if it's complimentary for everyone or just for RA. I am not sure if there is a club lounge, but I didn't get access, nor free breakfast, nor free internet (I know, none of those are standard RA benefits). They did give me a little plate of cakes and bottle of red wine, so I guess I can't complain too much.
Also, it seems strange to me that there is no jacuzzi. The outdoor portion of the pool is 35C (95F), but it would be amazing to sit in a real jacuzzi outside, year-round. And a terrace would have been nice; it's almost the same with the doors that open, but I guess only a few rooms have real terraces.
Above all, I would come back here for sure. I loved the environment in Berchtesgaden, Salzburg, and Konigssee, and this would really be ideal if one wanted a resort to just relax and not leave the hotel for a couple of days. There is also a golf course next to the hotel, on a site that I guess provides skiing in the winter, which looks like great fun.
