Well, with the pointsbreak stays it would be rude not to stay!

Check-in as platinum ambassador- no worries till we got to the room- it smelt of either damp or even ?pee. It looked like our inital room was an upgrade to some kind of suite with a sofa and a bathroom with a corner tub in. We immediatley asked to be moved and were promptly done so. The room we weremoved to wasnt so great -looked like a standard room- ok as well with molton brown- 6 bottles a day of vaious shampoos/mouthwash etc- these were promptly 'used' by me each day (into my suitcase) and replaced each day.
Beds comfy as well with good safe inroom and a view of the burj al arab.
Valet parking from the front door is free after validation of the car receipt at the conciege.
In room web for a fee and 'free' wifi with a purchase of 20 dirham (£4) in the loby cafe- passowrd protected andforthe real skin-flints its free in the emirate towers across the road in their lobby.

Food aint cheap as it was with the £:$ thing- main courses from£10 and up, but the beer in dubai is ££££££- 30 dirham=£6 a pint!

Overall, I believe the rate is too high180USD a night unless u can get a BOGOF or better deal.

I too stayed at CP Crowne Plaza (Sheikh Zayed Rd) in Feb on points breaks.

I was there in Dubai anyway and thought might as well check it out, seems a decent hotel from the outside.

The hotel in itself is huge with a shopping mall and many fast food outlets as part of the hotel.

The hotel is one of the 1st major hotels in Dubai and sadly it shows.

As a Platinum was upgraded to a well dated APartment suite, (as above), unfortunately the room was big but the decor and furnishings were of a very poor standard. I asked to be changed to a Captain Suite (sounds good but is smaller than most standard hotel rooms).

The hotel is badly in need of a refurb, the pool area and gym are badly dated.

For a pointbreak stay its fine but to actually pay the £150 per night rates I would never do!

The CP at Festival City is much better and if you can afford it the IC at Festival City is awesome.
