Other Middle East and Africa Frequent Flyer Programs - Why does EY and QR not have F in the 777s!

There is one thing that is bugging me for a long time:

Why when Etihad and Qatar received there 77W/77Ls, there is no First Class on board. It just seems strange that the biggest aircraft in the fleet does not have a First Class cabin. It certainly does seem strange when you consider both airlines are from rich Arab countries, they both have a respected First Class service currently in operation couple with the fact that the UAE/Qatar is generally has a strong F class following!

Any ideas?

IIRC, the QR 777 has F and Y only, no business. They use it for "bus service" inbetween Gulf destinations. Pricing is like F class on three-class service. Quite resonable not to offer 3-class service on those short runs IMO.

but on Long haul sectors, its actually a physically a J product just marketed as a F product intra gulf.

similar to US based airlines where domestically the product is marketed F but on international sectors its actually marketed as J because physically its a J product.

It maybe one of QR's long term plans, doubt they would launch F in this economy.
