American Express Membership Rewards - AmEx Mortgage Payments

Is anyone using this service? Do you earn miles for the mortgage payments?

We originally financed with AmEx and earned a bunch of miles, but at the time they weren't offering credit card payments.

I'm not familiar with that one in particular but previously discussed CC mortgage paying options generally end up being ridiculously bad deals. The mortgage rate you get is worse than what is otherwise available and so the points you are getting for "free" end up costing a LOT of money over 15-30 years.

I believe one of the banks offering this was IndyMac Bank. It was eventually seized by federal regulators. They had to operate at a loss to give give away all those American Express points.......just joking. The bank did fail however. Your link was to an Amex press release. I suspect the program is no longer in existence.
