Hi there...
It seems that I will soon be posted from the UK to LV for a work-related project. It could end up being a pattern of 2/3 months out in LV followed by 2 months back in the UK continuing for a year or two.
I have visited LV several times before but this will be my first longer stay.
I am looking for advice on the best place to look for / or actual suggestions for accommodation for the....
a) first 3 week exploratory visit (regular hotels are cheap enough at the moment ??)
and then
b) subsequently for the longer stays...
I know I could google - but somehow I trust you guys more !! :)
I will be travelling out alone - Mrs Scillybear may visit / stay later
Many thanks !!

economy means great deals, but might also mean to avoid rentals from owners.
no min
- trump (via hotel and maybe sales office)
- mgm signature (via hotel)
- palms place (via hotel)
3 month min
- turnberry towers (via sales office)
- sky las vegas (via sales office)
upcoming >
~ veer
~ vdara
~ mandarin oriental
~ fontainebleau
~ cosmopolitan
after all that upcoming inventory opens, rental deals should be ridiculous.
during the 3 week trip, id suggest taking advantage of some of the best deals, like encore. maybe stay in one place for most of the time (negotiate hard) then add a couple side trips.

you have to weigh risk of owner being foreclosed on etc vs how much youre prepaying..
vegas and south florida were the worst hit in the country.

You might be able to do some research in public records before renting to make sure foreclosure proceedings are not already in effect. I know I can see foreclosure information in the Snohomish County records for Washington State. Might give you a bit of peace of mind, anyway.

certainly cant hurt. ^
sky and turnberry towers are actually leasing condos they havent sold. trump was also considering it, not sure if they have started or not.
id imagine trump and signature hotel sales would also be pretty negotiable as well, considering how low base rates are.
You might want to browse through this site:

They have several apartment complexes that offer furnished short term leases. I'd suggest you begin by looking closest to where you will be working as drive times across the city can add allot of time to your day.
With short leases and furnished apartments you will not have to pay for the several months of the year you are not planning to be in town. Plus, if you don't like the first place you try - pick again for the next visit.
