I thought this was interesting that an airline couldn't tell apart who is who among its commercial partners.
1. There was a sign at the Brisbane lounge that says Air NZ welcomes customers of following airline partners. One of them is China Airlines (CI) who uses NZ lounge as a contract lounge and NZ put a Star Alliance logo next to it. They must have thought it was Air China (CA) who doesn't fly to Brisbane.
2. The other day I was on board an NZ flight to Brisbane again and the flight attendant announced through PA that they would like to acknowledge their code-share partner "Canadian Airways". I thought they meant Air Canada (AC) so not a big deal. But when I picked up my bags I noticed on the screen it was actually a CA flight number, ie Air China (CA).
