Hi this is my first time flying KAL. I redemed my AS miles for a business class (Prestige Class) ticket from SEA to HKG. The ticket is in "D" class. I wonder if I could gain access to the KAL prestige class lounge at ICN and HKG holding my Prestige Class boarding class ?

I am a AS MVP gold-level elite, but I don't this helps anything because Alaska Airlines is not a Sky Team member, even though they have code-share agreement with KAL.

Thanks !

BW

Yes, I am fairly certain you will be able to get access.

I've had no issues using ICN as well as a third-party (AKL) lounge with a D-class ticket.
Having said that, you may want to note that the KE lounge in HKG is MISERABLE. The airside area intended for the hoi polloi is a much better place to hang around.

No issues using lounge at ICN with D ticket. I did 4 weeks ago. As well as a year before.

Only time the subject ever come up - was checking in for flight from BNE-ICN on D ticket 2 weeks ago. The Australian contract agent had trouble trying to check me in - but then asked the adjacent Korean agent - and she said you need to check in as C. C being the generic code for BC. Never an issue - I guess the Australian contract agent just did not know at first how do to it. KE uses the Air NewZealand lounge in BNE - and agent gladly gave us passes.

Lounge access should always be part of a business class award trip if it's available to paying business class pax. My family and I are on KE SYD-ICN on D tix in a couple of months; we certainly expect access to the NZ lounge @ SYD. Never been an issue before with CX or JL.

Cova and Bear thanks for the reply. I look forward to trying out KE out of SEA. Although I flew CX transcon before (great experience), most of my transcon experience is with NW, which is no match to those Asian carriers in turns of quality of services and food.

Flew back from ICN to ATL on DL 2 weeks ago (on DL O ticket - reward BC). The DL flight leaves out of ICN in the remote terminal - connected by underground train ( ala ATL). Wow - what a beautiful new KE BC lounge out in that new terminal.

Same great food offering as the KE Prestige Lounge in the main terminal - but the new one is real contemporary.
