Hey there,
I noticed that on the Ryanair website, it mentions 16 year olds cannot use online check-in.
I just wanted to ask what the procedure was with the process of checking-in online.. do they ask for a DOB?
Obviously you can tell I'm trying to avoid a member of my family having to check-in at the airport.. but shhh. :D Flying from NQY.

I thought this only applied to unaccompanied minors - so if you're travelling as a family you should be OK.
They do check ID at the gate so any unaccompanied 16-year-olds would probably get caught at that stage.

I don't think it'll be a problem, have seen many children with families board with a online boarding pass

Thanks for all your replies, and thanks to emailkid for tweaking my topic title!
Aviatrix hit on the head what I really meant.. I didn't make it very clear in my first post! Its going to end up being a 16 year old travelling on a UK domestic flight with a 14 year old. I know that the 16 year old can be the legal guardian, or responsible adult.. but I was wandering what the likelihood was that we could get away with checking-in online.
Obviously little.. Just gunna have to shell out for Airport Checkin. :D
I think you'd better read the whole section on unaccompanied children so you know what the rules are

Reading the rules on unaccompanied minors it would appear that a 14-year-old travelling with a 16-year-old is NOT deemed to be an unaccompanied minor - unless their interpretation of "over 16" is "at least 17".

Does anyone know how the online check-in works at Ryanair?
I added two friends of my kids to our trip. I checked them in separately as adults, but now it turns out that they won't be 16 the day of departure.
How will the online check-in system react when we check in to print our boardingcards? Will it say that they are too young and cannot check-in or will I just get the boarding cards and then explain at the airport that we are a group if someone's asking?
