I told myself after misconnection fiasco coming back from FRA, no more int'l MRs, but then AA offered DBEQM and, well, Madrid starting calling my name ...
so I'm headed to MAD Friday evening 5/8 from DFW, returning (also via DFW) Monday 5/11. anybody planning MR to Madrid that weekend? I'll spring for the first plate of tapas ...

I fly out of FRA and have been playing around with doing a FRA-(USA)-MAD-(USA)-FRA run. I just need to convince Mrs. Gamecock it is a wonderful idea.....
My thought is do the first leg, hop on LAN or IB back to FRA, hop back to MAD a week later for the return leg. Not a "pure" MR, but doing it this way would be more tolerable.

Looks like I'm on those same flights along with a friend of mine. Not thinking of it so much as a MR since we actually are STAYING a couple of days! Having never been to Madrid, it was just too tempting.....although that didn't seem to stop me from turning around and getting back on the plane in Dublin LAST month! :D

I am on the return flight on the 11th and now see why my upgrade is waitlisted for the return. :)
I will be in Spain for a week (clearly not a MR) but can arrange to be in MAD for the weekend. Will spring for the 2nd plate of tapas......

+1
my wife and my boss both (not the same, really!) are shaking their heads, but I'm looking forward to my weekend MADness (~50hr turn-around)
brp over on American Advantage forum was kind enough to send me some info on museum passes. if weather permits I plan to also do a stroll around one of the parks, perhaps Retiro.
then there's the tapas. I had forgotten about those but recently had some in Menlo Park (CA), place called Iberia Restaurant. yummy! can't wait to try some in Madrid! :p
anyone know of good places to hear flamenco music?
