Since my company doesn’t allow me anymore to fly business to Asia I was able to convince my boss to book me on MS in C since it is approx the same price as OS in Y.
I made several times the CAI-BKK-CAN route. So I already had the pleasure to visit T1. Now I need to go to NRT and have following itinerary offered:
MS9200 10:30 VIE 15:05 CAI Arr: T2
MS964 17:50 CAI 12:55+1 NRT Dep: T1
I am not sure about the procedure from/to international flights when changing terminals.
I fear that I need to clear customs and immigration when arriving in Terminal 2 take a bus to Terminal 1 and pass security and immigration (maybe also check inn). Or is there a way to get from T2 to T1 without this procedure. Do I need a (20US$) tourist visa for the terminal shift?
Has anyone of You tried this connection?
And the most important question: Is the time sufficient for this itinerary?

Maybe I will be lucky and they will open next week T3 and all my problems will be solved

Thanks a lot

Hello,

I did such a connection (LX->MS) last january, but based on two tickets. So of course I had to arrange my connection myself and buy a visa.

15:05 -> 17:50 is more than enough time. There are frequent shuttle busses between the two terminals (landside). In case of "emergency" you can also take a taxi. Check-in at T1 is really easy, as there is a separate check-in-hall for biz-passengers.

Of course a T1->T1-connection is more useful, but your connection is doable. Just forget about the opening of T3, last I heard is "september"...

Its a legal connection so its fine.

But at T2, you'd have to go to the 'International Transfer' area which is like a prison holding pen!

But after everything, you'd be fine to go.

When checking in for your CAI-CAN flight, be sure to ask for the bulkhead row of the C cabin. Its pretty dire in my opinion in the rest of the cabin. There's no need for you to go through immigration so no visa needed.
