Las Vegas - Palazzo or Venetian: which one do you prefer?View Full Version : Palazzo or Venetian: which one do you prefer? Kohoutek Mar 17, 09, 2:07 pm Pros and cons, please. Kohoutek Kagehitokiri Mar 17, 09, 2:24 pm palazzo is brand new, and has concierge level. venezia is smaller, and has concierge level. venetian is largest, and has no concierge level... mishool Mar 17, 09, 2:26 pm Just had an email from Palazzo offering me deals on suites. Is this a four star or five star hotel Thanks Kagehitokiri Mar 17, 09, 2:47 pm depends on what you mean by 4/5 star. mishool Mar 17, 09, 4:00 pm Ah well I dont know what I mean. Palazzo claims to be four star but is rated five star by hotel sites. Bellagio claims to be five star so I am confused dkelly1110 Mar 17, 09, 4:16 pm Ah well I dont know what I mean. Palazzo claims to be four star but is rated five star by hotel sites. Bellagio claims to be five star so I am confused What difference does it make? baccarat_king Mar 17, 09, 4:24 pm IMO, definitely Palazzo: more intimate casino property, a bit more contemporary in furnishing, and a great (and conveniently located) concierge lounge on the 23rd floor. Since the Canyon Ranch Spas connect from Venetian to Palazzo, you basically have access to all the facilities (such as the rock climbing wall) from either property. I haven't spent much time @ the pools at either property, so that might be an issue, but someone with first hand knowledge would have to speak to that topic. I find there is probably very little that would tilt things in favor of Venetian. Maybe an upgrade to a Renaissance Suite @ Venetian, but other than that, I'd much prefer to be @ Palazzo. mishool Mar 17, 09, 4:42 pm Thank you for such an informative reply. I love to gamble but my wife enjoys sitting by pool so that is an important issue I suppose. Bellagio pool is great but sure Palazzo would be too Goosey Mar 17, 09, 5:34 pm Palazzo rooms are everything the Venetian rooms are, only newer. Palazzo has a smaller, quieter, and more intimate casino. It is usually much less smoky. The Grand Luxe Cafe there is rarely full even at times when the Grand Luxe over at the Venetian has long lines. It is closer to the Wynn and Fashion Mall. Venetian's casino is always more packed. The poker room is also located at the Venetian whereas the Palazzo doesn't have one. It is much easier to walk to Dennys, Harrahs, and cross the street over to Mirage etc. For rooms, I will always choose Palazzo over the Venetian. But the Venetian is more convenient generally speaking. SOhp101 Mar 17, 09, 5:45 pm Palazzo is way better IMO. Worth the extra walk. Nearly all sites overrate when it comes to number of stars. According to Mobil, it's a 4 star hotel... which is exceptional and nothing to be embarrassed about. mishool Mar 17, 09, 5:45 pm Any idea of the pool areas. I think I read that they are overlooked but may be mistaken Goosey Mar 17, 09, 5:49 pm Palazzo is way better IMO. Worth the extra walk. Nearly all sites overrate when it comes to number of stars. According to Mobil, it's a 4 star hotel... which is exceptional and nothing to be embarrassed about. It is a 5 star hotel according to the AAA though correct? For what it's worth, it's definitely a step up from "4 star" hotels such as the Treasure Island. kingalien Mar 17, 09, 5:49 pm adding on: Most if not all of the Venetian original tower rooms have been refurbished so they look very similar to Palazzo. The Venezia tower now has the most dated rooms. Still, I like the exclusive feel of Venezia even if it is a long hike to get to it and will choose it over Venetian. Given the choices though, Palazzo would be my first grab. SOhp101 Mar 17, 09, 6:02 pm It is a 5 star hotel according to the AAA though correct? Mobil rates TI as 3*. globaltrekker Mar 17, 09, 6:16 pm Any idea of the pool areas. I think I read that they are overlooked but may be mistaken Pool at the Palazzo is very nice -- a lot of lounging options (chaises in the sun, in the shade, and even some in the pool). It can get a bit crowded, though. If you want a little more privacy, you can always rent a cabana. You can use the pool at either property if you stay at Venetian or Palazzo. kyrielsn Mar 31, 09, 12:43 am The Venetian and Palazzo rooms are about the same: both have sunken living rooms separated by a couple stairs, spacious and L shaped sofa with a pull out bed, large screen HDTV's and one in the bathroom. Exception may be the ada compliant handicap accessible rooms and some of the higher end suites. The Palazzo was a little more subtle, a little more modern than the Venetian in terms of furniture and general room decor, but definitely not enough to note anything of significance. The Palazzo is newer with a view of the wynn golf course and the rolling hills. They both have a Grand Lux Cafe but it seemed things were closer in walk with the Venetian. The gaming limits appear to be higher in the Palazzo. IMO Palazzo just has a new car feel to it because it's new. lrickets Apr 1, 09, 12:10 pm have not stayed at venetian but at palazzo twice and loved it. 2nd time was comped for 3 nites about 2 weeks ago. venetian has more shops, restaurants and the gondola rides going on. but i think i'm much prefers the palazzo over venetian tho. i was really surprised to receive another offer for 2-4 nites comped as many times as i would like thru 6/30 either ven or pal. :D guess i'm going to make another free trip soon.:) Kohoutek Apr 6, 09, 12:05 am Venetian and Palazzo casinos were PACKED last week! You wouldn't have known there was a problem with the economy. Kohoutek |
