Can anyone tell me if the AA flights in from San Juan deplane at the front of the plane, back of the plane or both? Trying to choose my seat assignment

IIRC, they deplane from the front. They're ATR's, so I really wouldn't worry about it.

welcome to ft. we always have stupid questions. my stupid question is, why do you worry about front or back entrance??

it is sort of nice to have a window seat as the plane does not get very high and flies very slowly, so you can see the islands, the beaches and the very blue water. stay away from the wing, so you can see down.

if the plane is not full, you may have to move for balance.

after getting off the plane, we have always had to stand in line for a long time to get through their customs activity. then we have had to wait for a significant period of time for the vehicle to come pick us up. the venicle then drives well beyond safe limits to our destination.

i forgot to mention there is no a/c and the temp is over 100 in the sun.

^ You just described the BVI perfectly

I always try for row 13 or 14, depending on the aircraft, this can be 2nd or 3rd row from the back. The immigration lines can be very slow in BVI. And after you've waited for 20 mins and are almost to the counter, they have an annoying habit of opening up another lane to serve all the people behind you.

PS Customs can also be slow.

Especially if you do a "New York" on them! No offense - I lived in Manhattan for years. We flew a puddle jumper years ago from St. Thomas to Tortola - fellow from NY with his briefcase was going on to Virgin Gorda and was VERY loudly complaining about slowness, etc. etc. He was in front of DH and I and just as he got to the counter they opened another line for us and the guy that was supposed to take care of him went on break! :D I thought he was going to have a stroke. Then he couldn't find the pilot to go on to VG after he FINALLY got through the line. Pilot went to the bar as this guy was annoying him as well.
