Now that the last of the club lounges have been dispatched from the SPG Paris properties, I wanted to get a update on in-room coffee.

Which, if any, of the SPG Paris properties offer in-room coffee makers (or at least devices to heat a pot of water)?

Thanks,

MO

I've stayed at the PDG, Westin Paris, LM Etoile, and LM Montparnasse. I don't recall ever seeing a coffee maker in the rooms.

Unfortunately, the list of Guest Room features/amenities on the Starwood hotel pages are all followed by the following disclaimer:
"Some of the amenities above may not be available in all rooms. Fees on certain amenities/services may apply."

There was not a coffee maker in our newly remodelled Executive Room at the LM Etoile a couple weekends ago.

Last weekend at the 4P Sihlcity in Zurich, Switzerland, we were upgraded to a suite with a really cool looking Nespresso (http://www.nespresso.com/precom/home_us_en.html?) machine.

In-room coffee isn't a French thing. Maybe they don't dismiss it as a horror, like one eating a sandwich at his desk for lunch, but it's not the way they do things. German Swiss are more pragmatic.

Why would one drink coffee in a hotel room when being in the heart of Paris? I do that when being in suburbian US, but for Paris its clearly one of the wonderful little French bistros.... (and do not tell me 4 Euro is a rip-off - hey, this is Paris....:p)

Only at 3am because one can't be bothered trying to find somewhere to get it at that time of the night/morning! :p

I have a small light weight travel kettle. It is the first thing in my bag when travelling overseas. I need a coffee as soon as I get out of bed. It may be instant coffee, but it is better than nothing. It is also handy when the inside of the coffee maker looks gross.

You can buy filtered coffee 'capsule'-like object that sits on top of a cup if you prefer to have a decent coffee. I'm pretty sure I've seen them in Australia.

Other than the sheraton at CDG, I don't remember in-room coffee in any SPG property in Paris.
