Budget Travel - Ryanair - does the card holder have to fly?

Some other airlines (including BA) sometimes ask to see the credit card used for booking when you at check-in or ask that the card holder is a passenger.

Does anyone know if Ryanair insist the cardholder flys or is at the airport?

I would like to book some tickets for my mother on my card, but I won't be flying with her and I wondered if this might cause problems.

Many thanks for your help! ^

There's no requirement for the card holder to travel - as long as the money has been handed over, Ryanair doesn't care who bought the tickets

Hopefully she'll be warned in advance about luggage allowances, other hidden charges, the strict one carry on rule meaning no bags of duty free, etc.

It's those who book their parents on Ryanair and don't read flyertalk that I feel sorry for because they're then unlikely to have briefed their parents about avoiding the charges.

Thanks for that! ;)

I'm definitely not a fan of Ryanair, I wouldn't ordinarily put anyone I loved anywhere near a Ryanair flight, but I'm the proud owner of a brand new Visa Electron card and my Mums quite up for the idea of playing MOL at his own game and taking advantage of the odd 2p day return flight to Dublin to visit family for lunch (no luggage etc) :D
