Other North & South America Frequent Flyer Programs - LAN standby policy?

Greetings friends,
Anyone know the same day standby policy for LAN? We have a flight scheduled to arrive in SCL at 4:30 am, but our onward flight to EZE isn't until 4:10 pm. We bought the cheap tix, so changes require a fee, but I can't find the standby policy. Thanks in advance for your help.

It depends. In LIM, they do follow strictly your tix rules.
In SCL, I never had a problem getting on an earlier flight when not traveling with luggage. If traveling with luggage, it would need more GA attention and thus they will be less helpful.

It has been a few years since I've asked, but @ SCL they were quite inflexible with tickets already issued (by another carrier) for any variations to LA domestic flights. (I have no Lanpass status, nor OW status.)
If you have luggage, you may not have much choice, because your bags will be checked through, and you won't see them again until EZE. The only way to retrieve your bags would be to short check them @SCL, "enter" Chile, pay a reciprocity fee if you are subject to one (US passport holders are $131), go back up to int'l Check-in, and ask nicely.
(I am assuming you are on an int'l connection.)
I would go to the LAN counter after you go through the connecting flights security (they probably open at 530 or 600) and ask nicely, present them your connecting boarding passes (or your itinerary, if you still need to check-in for that flight) along with your baggage claim receipts, and see what they say and what they can do for you.

LAN is fairly inflexible with the deep discount tickets, even for a connecting international segment from their hub. I have had some luck avoiding an overnight in SCL en route to MVD originating in LIM. My experience is that your best chance is to talk to the GA at initial check-in, since even with OW Sapphires don't get much respect at the LAN Santiago check-in desk.

I asked this to the Special Services agent in EZE.
She did not say anything about what would happen at SCL, but at eze, if you have a flight same day, she would put you in the earliest flight (if avail) for free.
Slightly off topic but if you are exempt from the $131 the Holiday Inn at the airport is currently a hotel featured in Priority Club's Point Break redemption at only 5,000 pts. I am sure you would be able to organize a late check in & a late check out.

Does anyone else have any experience doing an earlier standby at EZE while on a LAN Visit South America Air Pass?
I'm arriving EZE on UA at 9:30am and am scheduled on the 12:30pm LAN flight to SCL.
However, I see there is an 11:30am flight that I would like to catch if possible.
Does anyone know if I have a shot at making this? Both from a timing/connection standpoint and also from a standby allowed by LAN standpoint.
Thanks!

So I should look for the special services agent in EZE to do this? We're flying in on Thursday and booked a long layover for a non-connecting flight to SCL (6 hours) but there's another flight 90 minutes after our scheduled arrival that we'd like to get on if possible.
Also, I just got the check-in email from LAN for the later flight. Should I hold off on doing online check-in if we're trying to make the earlier flight?
Thanks in advance.
