I understand that there is a strike or work slowdown from another blog on SAA and that some flights from IAD to JNB are being cancelled. I leave on March 28 and have heard nothing from the airlines. Does anyone here have any other up to the minute news? I am gong to a conference so really need to get there but would not cry if I have to cancel. Of course getting my money back from SAA should be interesting.

I am not sure the strike and the cancellations are related. The latter has more to do with loads I believe. SA208 is still shown for 28 March so there's no reason to suspect you will have problems.

Yesterday, all incoming and outgoing international flights to / from JNB appeared top be operating as per normal (source: the ACSA website live flight arrival and departure times). It does not appear that the strike is having a significant effect on flight operations. (I'll check on domestic operations a bit later)
