This is a good deal if you only need it for local travel. Most of my Enterprise rentals come with unlimited miles, so just be forewarned if you plan to take advantage of this offer.

Also, I remember Avis used to have something similar. On the Deals page, it was called, "Short trips = low rates. $10/day plus $0.20/mi." This promotion does not appear to be there anymore, perhaps because obsessively watching the odometer would produce similar feelings of anxiety as watching a taxi meter tick. Even Zipcar recently acknowledged this in a recent newspaper article. (FYI, a taxi is usually $2/mi, presumably because you're getting the car and the labor.)

As I said many times before, Enterprise loves local mileage and replacement rental folks. This promotion does not surprise me in the least. I just hope they don't take some cues from you-know-who (cough, cough- Avis and Budget) by introducing mandatory fleetwide mileage limits, and start pricing themselves out of the market completely. As I said in another post, for the price of the mileage, I might as well fly.
