The Caribbean - taxi to fajardo

How do I get a shuttle/taxi from the SJU Airport to Fajardo? How much does it cost for four people? Should I make a reservation with someone/ or company?
And realistically... if our flight gets it at 1:30pm on a friday would we make either the 3pm or 7pm ferries that same night? Do I need to make a reservation for tickets?
thanks

Fajardo is quite a distance from the airport
Maybe 55 minutes or more
There probably are other choices than a taxi
Check with the hotel you are staying in
Absolutely a great destination on the northest
corner of the island with a lighthouse and
very close to the BEST beach in all of PR
Luquillo and also near the tropical rainforest
El Yunque
A rental car might be your best choice
Have a great trip
What island are you catching a ferry to? You should be able to catch a flight from SJU to Vieques or Culebra on Vieques Airlink, Air Flamenco, or Air Sunshine.

If you can't get a flight out of SJU, you should check on flights out of Isla Grande Airport on the other side of San Juan. I would not recommend driving all the way over to Fajardo to catch the ferry, between the time and money, its not worth it.

From Luis Munoz Marin (SJU) to Isla Grande is at least
half an hour ride without traffic in the opposite direction
Including check in & security you would not do better

I drive SJU to Isla Grande in 20 minutes without traffic, and obeying traffic laws. ie... a Cab Driver probably does it in 15 mins. Also, Isla Grande is a small General Aviation airport (mostly) with very little commercial traffic consisting mainly of Cessna 402's and Britten Norman Islanders... ie- no TSA delays, and checkin is easy.
