Travelling on an AONE3 ex ICN on 17 June 2009. Do we yet know when (HUJ) is due to come out of retrofit and the last 744 (HOP) due to go in as by then you can guarantee all will be 74A that are flying.

In addition taking CX777/CX776 to CGK on 18 June - how likely is it that CX will deploy a 33B aircraft on this route ?

Retrofitting to be done by May 2009 for 74A.

about CGK, no idea. but since you're flying in june, i'm expecting more 333's to be converted by then, thus heightening your chance of flying a 33B

All this info and more can be found at the CX FAQ (http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/cathay-pacific-asia-miles/919353-cx-faq-complete-cx-experience.html)

Since HUJ went in for conversion around the 23rd of February you can expect it to come out around the 23rd of March. Unless of course, something goes wrong but it shouldn't - CX have had 21 other attempts on the 747s and they came out more or less one month after going in.

Expect HOP to go in for conversion a couple of days after HUJ comes out.

Again, how on earth do you know how long it takes for the retrofit? Very impressive...where do you get your info?

it normally takes 5 weeks instead of 4 for a 74A conversion, so slightly more than a month. HOP is not expected to ferry to XMN for conversion until early Apr.

From a website that logs registrations and flight numbers. :)

That website seems to list flights that are in certain parts of the US, Canada, and the UK.

So is it better that I choose a day when 343 is flying to have a better chance of getting F cabin on HKG/CGK/HKG. How many 333's will have new olympus seats in F?. On checking it seems that CX are still selling F cabin on 333 days.

Am I better to ditch CGK & replace with BOM so as to get guaranteed Olympus seats on 74A rather than taking a risk on CGK that its OK at the booking stage but they replace with a 2 class aircraft nearer the departure date. I need the 180 pts each way so must fly in F cabin.

So what chance do I have to actually get any F on HKG/CGK/HKG in the current downturn? Are they likely to just pull F & operate with 2 class aircraft.

I just want to have F provided if they sell me F. Have had the late substitution on HKG/SIN before.

If it is operated by a 333 what F is it - old betsy seats?

Yes old F seats.

Your chances are low if your flights are scheduled with a 34D or airbus with new config.. I don't know if you get compensation.
