You'll have this in your mailbox if you receive GF FFP communications.

For March only, GF will make additional Y seats available in peak times for redemption - at double the Y redemption rate - for travel until Jan 15, 2010:

Dear BiziBB,

We are always looking to bring you more offers from our Frequent flyer programme. With this in mind, we are delighted to inform you of our peak redemption offer. Now you can book your Gulf Air Economy tickets during peak travel seasons like the summer holidays or over the New Year when it is usually hard to find seats. As these seats are always at a premium, it will cost double the normal redemption miles. For instance, an Economy Class ticket from Bahrain to London will cost 48,000 miles.

You can book your Gulf Air Economy tickets with the peak redemption offer between the 1st and 28th March 2009, and you can use the ticket to travel any time before 15 January 2010*.

We do hope you enjoy and make the most of this latest offer. For further details, call our Worldwide Call Centre or simply drop in to any local Gulf Air office. Please note that this peak redemption offer cannot be booked online.

We look forward to welcoming you onboard soon.

Yours sincerely

Lesley Britton

"Anyone with local sources who can update us on GF = Dry? "

All quiet on the Eastern Front and no more chatter on PRUNE/Gulf forum, they normally pick up the news first and it was full of vitriol when the "dry" story started.
Only one small pic of new 777 in print but started on the BAH/LHR 2nd March, 3 more due out of paint shop this month.

96k GF miles for a return Y flight LHR-BAH even in "peak season" is simply insane. Even the steep award table was not too bad when they had those nice "quadruble" miles promos during the Hogan area. However those days are gone and nowadays collecting GF miles is pretty worthless, imho.
