I just noticed on the CX Korea that the business class fares ex ICN and PUS until the end of JUN are really amazing. 3 month stay in Europe from 1500USD for CDG. LHR/FCO and FRA are a little more.

1 month tickets to Australia are under 1100USD!:)

15 day tickets to selected SE Asian destinations are from 540USD for HAN/SGN to 658USD for CGK.

Pretty good deals. Hoping that the release some fares for the US soon.

Actually the validity is until 30 June 2009. So it is not a bad deal at all!! I might get one for my SYD trip in June. Also you can change the returning dates without penalty! Excellent value!
Thanks for posting to the OP.

The one to CDG is only for 263/262 (old configs). I bought mine ex-TPE for around HK$23,000.

Is ex-TPE at HK$23k good value? I've been seeing ex HKG fares to europe for about that price now during summer.

I've just popped in some dates in July in Zuji and am getting fares to LHR from HKG for HK$25k including taxes on CX. Add in the cost of getting to TPE and its basically the same price as an ex TPE.

Well, for my trip, it happens to be HK$32k (I class) for HKG-CDG.

It's cheaper to get to LHR at HK$25k (also I class).

Yes, they are equivalent to H/K fares.

Don't forget ex-HKG I class is extremely restricted:

##AM_XML CANCELLATIONS TICKET IS NON-REFUNDABLE. CHANGES CHANGES NOT PERMITTED. **** FQN1-1*PE 1 - PSGR P1 ADT RULES DISPLAY FARE COMPONENT 1 ADT HKGLON CX IAP28RT FCL: IAP28RT TRF:2004 RULE: CXDI BK: I PTC: ADT-ADULT FTC: BAP-BUSINESS CLASS ADV PURCH PE.PENALTIES CANCELLATIONS TICKET IS NON-REFUNDABLE. CHANGES CHANGES NOT PERMITTED.

Changes not permitted, 28-day advance purchase and non-refundable. Ex-TPE tickets are valid for one year, have no advance purchase requirement and date changes are free of charge.

The dealbreaker for me was the inability to change dates. I went with ex-TPE D class to LHR and paid something similar to what MilesBuzz paid in I class to CDG...

The nice thing is: I can stopover in HKG (on my return) for as long as 6 mths, so, I don't have to go to TPE immediately (and return back to HKG). This allows me better flexibility in planning for another long-haul in Summer, by using this last portion of the TPE-CDG-TPE ticket and embarking on another TPE-()-TPE run at no extra cost of buying another HKG-TPE-HKG ticket.

Oh...and in case I do change this tix to ex-ICN, the refund penalty is only TWD1,200 (a mere HK$300). Moreover, I kinda like TPE because I have many relatives there and can treat it as a mini-break whenever I start my mileage run from there (done that once already this year).

Hi Quick question

I'm based in HK.. Say for example if I wanted to fly to CDG... Is there anyway I can just request a stopover on the return leg (since the flight will fly CDG-HKG) and just get off and forego the HKG-ICN leg? so the routing would be as follows

HKG-ICN(on my own) ICN-CDG and then CDG-HKG

I think mentioned other threads, you simply tell when check-in that you need to pick up something @ HKG and ask them to tag it to HKG instead of ICN.

And risk these fares being pulled because its so nonchalently being advised here on what to do?

If you can take the time to originate from ICN, you can take the time to end in ICN and return to HKG that way!

Think about it - more miles for you too ! ^

Hi, just wanted to clarify the T&Cs of this promotion as the terms seem rather vague.

Say I was to issue ICN-HKG-LHR (rt) in I, the oubound (ie ICN-HKG-LHR) is valid on flight date shown while the inbound leg can be changed as many times as we like?

If I was to do the stopover in HKG on the inbound leg, could I change the LHR-HKG leg independently of say, the HKG-ICN leg?

Thanks!

If the fare rule don't allow stopover, then NO.

If the fare rule don't allow stopover, then NO.

and if rules allow, you'll need to pay tax for HKG-ICN/TPE if you dont fly within the same day of arriving HKG (before 2359 per CAD rule)

So according to the schedules, HKG-ICN arrives in Seoul at 14:05 and the return flight is at 15:15 - it's probably the turnaround.

Will CX check you through from HKG back to the ICN departing flight with baggage even though you are on separate tickets?

think the rule is they wont bother if you're on a turnaround. at least for the TPE ones you can even hop on the flight before. They'll be on ur long haul flight.

These fares are really tempting! ^
Is this possible to do?
MNL-HKG-ICN (separately on a RT ticket)
then ICN-HKG-CDG-HKG-MNL (on a ICN-HKG-CDG RT ticket + my above RT ticket).
Do I get any penalties for not using the final (HKG-ICN) sector of my Korea issued ticket and the ICN-HKG of my MNL originated ticket?

Thanks for all the inputs :)

It is ok for not using HKG-ICN sector, however tickets should have to be used in order,so I think you cannot skip ICN-HKG before checking in HKG-MNL (have to check them in together if there is no stopover in HKG).

You can't skip to HKG-MNL portion of your ex-MNL fare. You definitely have to use ICN-HKG as well.

What I will suggest is buy a return ticket MNL-HKG-MNL (cheaper than to ICN), the long haul ICN-CDG-ICN (and forgo the HKG-ICN last sector), and redeem the HKG-ICN portion using Asia Miles (one-way).

BTW, though SIN is not listed as one of the cities on its special promo, it should be as there is an "I" class fare for around US$590 incl tax, and "Q" for around US$300 incl tax.

Just FYI

Fares to South-East Asian countries are also available ex-TPE starting from TWD13,500. That's roughly around the same price.

Can anyone advise what the flight dates of these sales are?

It looks like I can book 'I' flights to AUS in mid April, but I can't seem to get them for intra-Asia flights after the end of March?

Am I right too in saying that previous restrictions mentioned by an earlier poster no longer apply?

For example, date dates are now permitted within validity of ticket.

Am I missing something?

There are new fares in I class being offered at the moment through summer ex ICN. They are currently through the CX office, rather than online. Not quite as good as the fares until 30JUN, but for summer not too bad.

LAX/SFO --- KRW3348000 plus taxes Approx 2540USD

NYC --- KRW4278000 PLUS taxes Approx 3250USD

EUR (cx operating ports) -------- krw3255000 plus taxes Approx 2470USD

The BKK and SIN fare of 850000-950000krw is on through summer too.

For what is worth, the AY fare to Europe for summer, if booked by the end of April, in I class is about 2000USD, with the higher fuel surcharge. I am not sure if I should take the AY flight, and save about 300USD per person (the difference to FCO on the dates I want, inclusive) or pay to take CX- any thoughts?

I will keep people informed if I hear of any other cheap flights ex ICN

Well... I bought one of these fares (the summer I class deals) last night ^

Any suggestions how to get to ICN cheaply? I can leave from either PVG or HKG.

Roundtrip (using Ctrip) PVG-ICN is around USD300, and HKG-ICN is coming up around USD400 (for 30 day tickets).

Are these about right?

That would be good.

I'm currently looking for a milege run in I class end of May - SE Asia would be good. Otherwise I'll do an immediate turnaround and fly back to Australia on one of the I class specials...

I'm trying to book ICN-AKL biz class fare -- according to the little summary page, only fares to AUSTR and EUROPE require 21 day adv. Any idea if this is just a typo? Tried to book, but online booking tool is trying to force 21 day AP. Tried calling SEL CTO, but no one picks up.
