It's gonna get ugly here later tonight. I'm sitting in JFK right now, suppose to go JFK-RDU-BOS so we're just going to sit tight and see how well that plan comes together.

Great thread. Being a meteorological hobbysit for decades now, this is a blockbuster. There is for sure going to be some extended delays for sure in the NE corridor.
I do have one question as this has never happened to me before in a winter storm.
I am staying in Boston tomorrow night as I have a 8am flight out of BOS to IAD Tues morning. I have my return trip from IAD to BOS WEd morning. WE are going down to look at houses to move to in 2 weeks. What is the process if our flight is canceled Tues am out of BOS? Do they re book us on a later flight on Tues and if so, can we re book our flight to a later time on Wed so we have enough time to get the house situation resolved down there?
Just curious
Thanks again to all

These threads are always more helpful when you put a date in the title. :)

Yeah, thanks. I think it should be better way where member can barely read it.

I felt sorry to hear these folks in northeastern due to snowstorm. I knows they were struck in NYC due to flight is cancellion. So otherwise, I think they will have rebooked for next future trip. I knows all airports will be closed until further notice. So hope the weather will be better for those days. So I can't go to JFK for awhile. We don't want to be stranded in NYC. I think it should wait for while in between April or May if the weather condition will be warming up again.

We barely made it into BOS this evening/morning from RDU. Unfortunatly we ran into a major mx problem in JFK with the plane we were originally going to take. Had we been on time we wouldn't have a problem but the delay put our arrival right during some heavy forecasted snow. Pilots said approach was CATII and we just scooted in as the weather was above mins. As we were taxiing in I was looking at the various terminals and I noticed NW had 0 planes, UA had 1, YX had 0, AA had a few, FL had 1. The terminals looked bare and empty. Amazingly the CO flight I plan to take to CLE tomorrow is on time and showing as operating!

According to news reports, over 900 flights were cx at the three major NYC airports (JFK, LGA, EWR)! Looks like JetBlue has been handling this storm quite well. ^

Yep, sure did. Its has been cancelled the flight due to severe snowstorm in NYC. So hope the weather will be goes away in the couple days later. I'm sure they didn't have Bill of Rights.

Today was not pretty for me. Was supposed to start at 10:48 and end at 22:17. I started at 10:48 and ended at 01:50. We were captured in a JFK GDP our flight scheduled to leave at 11:48 to NY did not leave until 17:55... And that was the first of three legs today... I am wooped.

I rode CO 1531 BOS-CLE on March 2. We were 1 of 3 flights to leave that morning. We had to be deiced at the gate then deiced once again while holding short of the runway. It was snowing so hard I was amazed we left at all. I think not only did the airlines, all airlines, handle the storm well but so did the travelers. Those traveling knew that there were going to be delays, there was just no way around it. When customers know and understand why flights are delayed it helps. They are upset but understanding that every airline is trying to run as frequently and as safely as possible.
