I currently use a Marriott Visa card because I normally use their hotels during travel enabling me to rack up points quickly.

However, I am going to be moving to the Asia-Pacific region for a couple years (starting in Australia) and would like to switch to a miles card to make travel back to US easier.

I typically fly UA or AA and have a fair amount of miles on both. I know that AA is weak in this area so I'd avoid an AA card. Any suggestion on which airline card I should be looking at?

Thanks.

Definitely do UA...they are offering 15000 mile bonus for their credit card right now, and perhaps you can still get the 20000 bonus miles. Search for the thread on 20000 miles in the UA forum. They have the cheapest award travel to the region overall...at 60000 miles to Australia(15000 less than AA). And overall they have the cheapest award travel within the Asia-Pacific region. If I am not mistaken, I think the annual fee is cheaper for the UA card as well.
