I am booked IAD-JFK-AUA for this June. Last weekend, I noticed the return flight had dropped a bit and contacted Jet Blue for fare credit. Easy transaction and now I have a credit to use.
When booked originally in Dec, I purchased my ticket. My wife and M-I-L are on a seperate reservation for the same flights. When buying the ticket, there are 2 options for the JFk layover. One is about an hour, one is four hours. All three times we have selected the 1 hour layover, the flight to JFk was late and we ended up on the later flight. Plus, we are traveling with an elderly person so we selected the long layover this year.
Anyway, I went online to select my seat (Extra leg room) today and noticed the seat next to me available. How could this be? My wife is already assigned the seat next to me! I looked closer at my intinerary. I was now assigned to the earlier flight to Aruba!
Called Jet Blue. It was corrected quickly and easily-no complaints-just glad it got noticed. The agent told me that the system defaulted to the shorter layover when repricing.
Just an FYI.
