Well, that's a different question than "best hotels for Diners points in London"!

Diners Club points transfer to hotel program points. Each hotel program points program then has its own rules. For example, you can transfer to Priority Club and book rewards online far out. You can transfer to Choice and book rewards often with less points but only 60 to 90 days out (depending on your Choice status level), assuming you are based in the US. You can transfer to Hilton HHonors and book rewards only for much higher number of points (so hopefully 1 DC point turns into many more HHonors points than Priority Club points or Choice points!).

Starwood points are differently valued (1x instead of 10x scale) so you have to factor that in if considering that program.

However, the point transfer rates may be different. You have to do your math (or wait for someone who's done it to do it for you), because that involves knowing the DC->hotel transfer rates and how it compares with the hotel program's point requirements for a particular hotel on a particular date (some hotels change the number of points they need from season to season), combined with an opinion of the hotels (and then, do you not care about location in the London area at all?).

I dont understand "best way". I only know of one way, the "normal" way (either use the Club Catalog online at www.dinersclubus.com, or call).

Here is a direct link to the Club Catalog hotel points page, which shows you all the transfer ratios at once:

FWIW: I've got an upcoming reservation for the Quality Crown Hotel Paddington at 16k Choice Privileges points for one night (later this month). Now, I do have to walk a block or two out of Paddington station to get there, as opposed to just going upstairs to the Hilton, but Hilton wanted 40k points for one night. (And notice that DC->Hilton is no better a transfer rate than DC->Choice!) And Quality Crown Hotel Paddington got decent reveiws at Trip Advisor (http://www.tripadvisor.com). Having said that, I'm not looking for luxury, and I'm only there for one night (at the end of a trip to England that's otherwise spent outside London, with easy access to LHR the next morning), and at any rate don't have personal experience to report yet. (Furhermore, many people would argue that Paddington is not the best location in London if you are there for multiple nights. Although it's fine if you plan on using the Tube to get everywhere because you plan to go to scattered places around London anyway.)
