Budget Travel - Any deals on flights to Australia?

Hey everyone. I'm interested in taking a trip to Australia towards the end of the month. Does anybody know of any deals going on by any companies? I've checked numerous sites, and only see fares in the $1000+ range. I'm looking to fly out of Los Angeles into Brisbane, but if anyone knows of another airport to travel out of other than LAX I'm definitely open to the option.

There has been the cheapest flights for many years but usually one needs to jump in quick when they come out Emirates have had some for $125 all up including taxes but only on certain days . also jetstar have had some very good fares join up to receive their emails and then they will send you via email when these flights are. Virgin has a happy hour between 12pm and 1pm worth a look there. Jetstar has Friday frenzy. There are other sites a NZ site is called grabaseat Some and most are domestic but every now and then australia fares are on.
