I'll also post this on the Amtrak forum, but wondered if anyone has experience moving HH points to AGR? Amtrak says it can take up to 90 days for transfer to post with them! Does it REALLY take that long? I was hoping to use the points for train travel in April

I've never personally transferred Hilton points to AGR, because of the huge hit, but I did have a friend that did so once and I don't think that he waited more than a week if that.

I can tell you that Hilton is very good at transferring the double dip info to AGR. I don't think that I've ever waited longer than 2 weeks from any one stay to see my AGR DD points show up over at AGR.

So I'd say that you should be fine. However, if something does go wrong, one thing I can tell you is that AGR won't even start an investigation until the 90 days has gone by.

Thanks for the info. I doubt that many people do transfer points becasue of the large amount necessary. I have a zillion HH points, have never taken a sleeper and was hoping to book the EB this spring. That's 30,000 AGR points!

I'll post here when AGR posts the transfer in case anyone is interested.

Cheers!

If anyone is interested, it worked well. Hilton transfered their points overnight and AGR had them posted within 4 days. Sounds like I'm the only one who cares about this!^

U should have posted on FT's own The Coupon Connection. U had to give 200K HH for a measly 30K Amtrak. In the other direction 30K Amtrak will convert to 60K HH & only for bona-fide Amtrak train riders. Someone would have gladly given U his 30K Amtrak for 90--100K HH!

Yeah, well, live and learn. I'm still pretty ignorant about all this. I had a mess of HH points and wanted to do this as quickly as possible. Nevertheless, you're right. I appreciate the advise. Next time!

Yea, like me. Please keep this mind if you want to do it again.
