Hilton HHonors - Hilton at Disneyland

What's the best Hilton property to stay at near Disneyland for a family of four? This will be a rewards stay for a Hilton Gold.
I'm looking for a place that is newer, nice, family friendly, and with possible room upgrades and breakfast. I have heard the DoubleTree is good. Also, it MUST have a shuttle to Disneyland.
Thanks for your opinions.
... by the way, I did search the forums before this post but many about Hilton's at Disneyland are outdated by at least a year.

Anaheim Doubletree.....I liked it alot and will be going back later this year.
I hope it still has the great free full breakfast for my family of 4

The Hilton Garden Inn on Harbor often is significantly cheaper than the Hampton across the parking lot.
The HGI is a very decent choice.

We have stayed several times at the Hilton Anaheim Convention Center.
Never have done it as an award stay; in years past we always got it on Hotwire for $79 a night, with a rack rate of $179. It was (maybe still is) 3.5 stars, Anaheim South in their categories. As Golds, we have always been upgraded, even on an "opaque" stay.
Because it's a convention hotel, it's generally either packed or 2/3 empty (the lounge guy told me), so check the schedule.
There is a shuttle to DL (shared among a number of hotels, it appeared), but we had a car so I never used it. The place has an odd twisty parking garage for about $15 a day.
Nice Exec lounge to watch the fireworks. Only one Internet-linked computer there. Pretty good snacks and breakfast. Very nice staff throughout the hotel. I'd stay again.

Stayed at Doubletree on a PL bid. DH was HH gold. On the $50 bid we got the choice of going to the lounge for 2 for continental breakfast (just ok) or 2 passes for the breakfast buffet that included the hot made to order omlet. It was an easy call. 2 adults went to breakfast and DD (light eater) just ordered of kids menu (and took most of her waffle back to room).
Went up to lounge for refreshments in evening before heading back to park.
Shuttle ran on a somewhat limited schedule but it wasn't hard to tailor our plans to a accomodate it.
Enjoy.

That's the DoubleTree we stayed at last summer on PL.
Given HH Gold benefits though which was very nice...
2 breakfast certs. daily, free internet.
All was nice.

Agree. A very nice hotel. Ask for a renovated room. There's a nice Exec Lounge too.

A couple of details. When will you be there? If it is during peak season, you may want to stick with the Anaheim Hilton right across the street so you can walk easily, as shuttles and other transport can be congested. How old are the kids? If teens, they would probably like to be closer so they can go off on their own. Besides, you're at Disneyland. How much time will you really be spending in the room?

I really like the Doubletree on Harbor blvd in Anaheim. There's a shuttle to the park but it's not a bad walk. It's usually pretty quiet too.
The staff there is really good too.

I have stayed at several Hilton properties in the area but my last stay was at the Anaheim Hilton 2 weeks ago. It was an advanced pay rate for $89 each night. They renovated the rooms since my last stay there. The room was ok but I liked the more vivid colors that my previous rooms had before. As somebody said, the lounge is an excellent place to see the fireworks. It was convenient for me to walk to the DCA parking, across the hotel, and get on the tram to Disneyland as I saw many people doing it too.

Having just done this 2 weeks ago, let me add:
1. The Hilton is right across the street from DL, walking distance, though parking is pricey.
2. The 2Tree is the next closest HH property, but it is about a mile door to gate if you consider walking. Secondly, if using awards, they will only give you a standard room, not the suite. And yes, even as a Diamond.
3. If you use the "Shuttle" from any hotel, it costs $4 per person and during rush times, can be quite packed.
4. Consider the Homewood suites, fairly new and low cost if using points. Very good evening reception and breakfast.
