Budget Travel - Site for fares to various cities?

Not sure if what I'm looking for exists, but I figured if anyone would know, it would be the fine folks here!

I'm looking for a website that would show me what the cheapest airfares to different cities from my home airport would be on a given date. For example, I'd put in that I'd be leaving from LAX, traveling date X to date Y, and it would return results to say "you can travel for $113 roundtrip to A, $126 roundtrip to B, or $158 roundtrip to C."

I figure it would be great for when I have some time off and would like to get out of town... don't care where I'm going as long as it's somewhere!

Thanks for that! I'm not sure I've got it all quite figured out yet, but the search does give me a jumping off place for cruising online booking sites for actual fares for the days I'm wanting.

Princess1's suggestion is usually my first choice, but sometimes www.kayak.com can smoke out something interesting too. And the ITA software is always amazing (matrix.itasoftware.com).
