Anyone else get an "invitation" from Alaska air to join e-rewards? Has anyone dealt with them before? Are they above board, or just a house of spam waiting for my email addy?
Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan - e-Rewards?View Full Version : e-Rewards? sinecure Feb 24, 09, 2:35 pm Anyone else get an "invitation" from Alaska air to join e-rewards? Has anyone dealt with them before? Are they above board, or just a house of spam waiting for my email addy? SEA_Traveler Feb 24, 09, 2:51 pm They work with DL, AA and most of the other big programs. Answering a few surveys is a quick way to earn a few miles to top off your account or keep your miles alive. Bay Area Blue Feb 24, 09, 2:52 pm Anyone else get an "invitation" from Alaska air to join e-rewards? Has anyone dealt with them before? Are they above board, or just a house of spam waiting for my email addy? I got the same email. When I was in college years ago, I was a part of e-Rewards. It was pretty simple. If I recall correctly, when you sign up you tell what your interests are. If a survey came out that was part of your interest, you were sent an email saying there was a survey for you to fill out and was worth XX e-Rewards. It has been awhile though since I have dealt with e-Rewards. amorsell Feb 24, 09, 3:05 pm Every AS mileage plan member got the "invitation". I did a little Googling on them and decided to pass on it based on some online reviews I read. I just don't want 5 to 10 emails per week about new surveys clogging up my inbox. Eastbay1K Feb 24, 09, 3:13 pm I have earned a fair number of HHonors points with this - some of the surveys are annoying but some are fine. I am glad to have AS in the mix as another redemption option. beckoa Feb 24, 09, 3:17 pm I signed up when I first saw the e-rewards link in the insider a week or so ago... and have received 2 emails... but didn't go thru them that day... and when I tried getting them done later on, they were expired. It seems to 'pay' $5-6 a half hour of e-rewards currency... redeemable for AS miles or lots of other stuff... bobsyouruncle Feb 24, 09, 5:31 pm I have earned a fair number of HHonors points with this - some of the surveys are annoying but some are fine. I am glad to have AS in the mix as another redemption option. Same here for the HHonors points. It's nice to see that I now have the option of redeeming for AS miles, although I always seem to run out of HHonors points before AS miles. sigueugis Feb 24, 09, 5:37 pm Did it a few years ago with USAir - it is a big waste of time for 1k miles. I'm sure you will find your personal time much more valuable to do things of interest than completing surveys. Join the wine club instead - at least you get a tangible to enjoy with the miles earned. ANC Feb 24, 09, 8:27 pm Yeah I got it and when I clicked to join I completed everything then got an error message. Now it wont show the page again and shows the same idiotic error message. I also noticed that AS wasnt on the list. Did anyone successfully sign up or did the plug pull before it started massiek Feb 24, 09, 9:19 pm I went through all the steps. It seemed like a good deal what with the offers -- which I'll use -- and the bonus miles. Web site worked OK. It is quicker if you skip a few questions.;);) golfingboy Feb 24, 09, 10:03 pm I got the email too and signed up without any problems. At the beginning they have like 3 or 4 short surveys about you (such as your travel tendencies, simple personal info like how many children, household income, etc). Then when a firm conducts a survey (mostly LLP, LLC marketing research firms) via e-rewards and if you fit in their 'targeted group' then you will get an email notifying you that there is a survey available for you to take. I have received 2 emails (been about 1.5 weeks since I joined) and did one within 20 minutes (questions are straightforward too) and got $5 in E-Rewards currency. For every $25 you earn you get 500 miles for Alaska, or you can opt for HHonors points, etc. May not be something you think it is worthwhile (time, more important things, etc), but E-Rewards is definitely 500 times better than E-miles. Can I use the AS link, but opt for Dividend Miles instead? golfingboy Feb 25, 09, 11:49 am I have a US account I need to keep alive. Can I use the AS link, but opt for Dividend Miles instead? Unfortunately, you cannot, you have to be invited by US Airways to accrue miles for Dividend Miles. :( Maybe try calling US Air and see if they could invite you into their E-Rewards program? maokh Feb 25, 09, 1:56 pm i am already on e-rewards but is it possible to switch it from bestbuy to AS? PDXOutbound Feb 25, 09, 7:31 pm I've been in eRewards for a couple of years. If you respond and qualify for survey's you get a decent rate of points/dollars. I've accrued several hundred through HHonors and have redeemed for points, magazines, and other coupons. It's decent and legit. beckoa Feb 26, 09, 11:14 pm I was denied the most recent survey... apparently they wanted someone who smoked at least 100 cigarettes in their life  Eastbay1K Apr 13, 09, 11:13 pm Has anyone yet redeemed for AS miles? How long have you waited? It says to expect several weeks for posting. (HH points post immediately). beckoa Apr 14, 09, 12:38 am Has anyone yet redeemed for AS miles? How long have you waited? (just need a new survey!) eponymous_coward Apr 14, 09, 1:49 am I enrolled via NW WP. You can cash out $50 for $50 off of a NW domestic ticket. Unfortunately, can't use AS codeshares. Well... somehow my balance shot over $28... so I just redeemed a $25 credit for 500 AS miles... so will know in 4-6 weeks what happens :-: ...and I just checked...it wasn't credited instantaneously... beckoa Apr 18, 09, 1:12 pm Well... somehow my balance shot over $28... so I just redeemed a $25 credit for 500 AS miles... so will know in 4-6 weeks what happens :-: ...and I just checked...it wasn't credited instantaneously...
