Cathay Pacific Airways today unveiled its new range of travel kits for passengers with a new exclusive design from top fashion house Bally and luxury skincare products from Australian brand Aesop.

The First Class travel kit for females once again features elegant designs by Ipa-Nima, a Vietnam-based brand known for its use of vibrant colours and unique embroidery. Inspired by the forest, the “Glamazon” pouch features hand-sewn beading, sequins and appliques. The second pouch design, “Bubbles”, is the designer’s interpretation of Champagne – the drink of choice for Cathay Pacific’s First Class passengers. The two styles of amenity bag will be introduced in two phases.

The elegant Ipa-Nima pouch is filled with a collection of skincare products from Aesop. Launched in 1987, the Australian wellness brand offers botanically based skin, hair and body products for men and women. The Aesop products featured in the kits are selected to help the skin cope with different environmental conditions and stimulants, including humidity. The products can enhance passengers’ comfort and help them feel relaxed and revitalised during and after their flights.

From April onwards, the airline’s male passengers travelling in First Class will receive a new specially designed black double-zip pouch from Bally, a renowned international fashion house with almost 160 years of history. The kits are packed with skincare products from Italian luxury brand Acca Kappa’s White Moss product line. White Moss was created as a unisex product with a crisp, fresh fragrance using the essential oils of lavender and juniper.

The Business Class female and male travel kits feature bags exclusively designed by renowned French fashion brand agnès b. The star-print bag for women is one of agnès b’s signature patterns and comes in cheerful pink and sweet baby blue. The male double-zip pouch comes in dark green or black and features the brand’s stylish lizard logo.

The Business Class travel kit for flights departing Hong Kong contains skincare products from Murad, a leading doctor-developed skincare range from the United States that is found in nearly 3,000 of the USA’s best spas and is available worldwide in 36 countries. Kits on flights to Hong Kong will continue to carry skincare products from Dermalogica, a US brand founded on the belief that good skincare is not about pampering or luxury.

Hrm... i like the old ipa nima bag more. the green one. =) the new agnes b bags look nice though, and the new F male bags ^

overall, they look better than before ^ quite sure many will be happy with the change

The Bally kit looks impressive and will be an addition to my Bally collection :D

They didn't mention anything about the sleeper suits for F. Any pics of the sleeper suits or has the been eliminated from the kits?

The sleeper suits are in separate bags, and I'm guessing they're still giving them out since no eyeshades are included in the F toiletry kit (as they are in the J one). Eyeshades normally come in the sleeper suit bag.

Received sleeper suit with slippers aka Shanhai Tang on flight SFO to HKG on 25th February.

CX888, YVR-JFK. This flight leaves about 10.30pm and arrives early into New York but it is only about 5.5 hours duration. Is it fair to assume the new amenity kits will be offered? I don't suppose there's also pjyamas?

But the new kits really looks much simpler and downgraded than the old ones(J).:D

I love the F class ladies amenity kit. It's the classiest kit I've ever gotten. I love the Aesop products, and I love the pretty little clutch purse. I only wish I had another CX F flight coming up so I could get another one. Likely by the time I get on a CX plane again, they will have rotated on to another kit.

I applaud CX for keeping the soft product in F fresh and interesting with its rotation of pjs and amenity kits.

Well if CX cancelled the amenity kits, then listen to the howls of protest you would hear on this forum. I always think amenity kits is one of the nice differences an airline can offer. Yes if you are travelling all the time I'm sure you get jaded, but if you travel J class for the first time on CX, and are delighted, I'm sure it would sway your choice next time.

And I don't think the new kits are worse than the old ones. The contents are the same as the previous kit, and the overall kit is way ahead of the older striped bags, or the ones they had around SARS time - the yucky plastic biotherm ones.

Received the latest Bally kit on my flight yesterday (got the Victorinox one in March).
I'd say the Victorinox bag looks better and feel more well-built than the new Bally one.
And if only they put the Aesop products (instead of Acca Kappa) in the men's bag as well, it would be perfect. :D

They are, but I have only seen Glamazon on my recent flights.

The best for me is the brown bag from Evelyn & Crabtree. A tad better than the green color one. Gosh, it has been 10 yrs already since CX rolled out their new FC seats ? ( and now the Suites ).

The eyeshade included in one package with pajama set. I did fly with them last week.

There was a post earlier mentioned the gift box from some high end cosmetic firm in LA ( all I remember is there are incense sticks in there and 2 other items ). And he mentioned that it was 10 years ago.
Guy Betsy and all the old timers here on the CX FT board can help confirm that. I started flying CX F at the time, the time that only 1 744 has the now phased out FC bed. And they called it the BIG BETSY. And the kits have gone cheap gradually since then, to the Victorinox brown bag and now the Bally's black double zipper bag.
And the female kits IMHO has gone even worse, now that green fish net kit is kit for some 15 yr old teenager, let alone a lady flying FC. Yeap, I still asked for them so I can give them out to my nieces at home. :mad:
Th PJs are basically the same, but personal preference is the light brown suits that you have to pull over your head, first it came in a zip lock pouch, then it came in like a cloth envelope...to the current ST black with different color rims ( I dislike this version the most. Black does not bland in very well with the AC furnishing which is mostly light brown.
Would Guy Betsy and Chiangisan chime in and help share your opinions ?

I got a green button seatshirt on my F flight last week. It was fine, i left it on the plane???? Do they really think you will wear it again?:confused:

I actually like the kits a lot. When you take it out of the green net, it is a very pretty clutch purse. I was given one a couple months back, and was complimented on it when using it as a purse. I also am a fan of the AESOP products inside it. This just demonstrates what a challenge it is for the airlines when tastes differ so much.

I just flew CX F from LAX-HKG. The pjs given out were a forest green with tan trim. They continue to be Shanghai Tang.

And. We know you got the amenity kit. Can you tell us? Is the Ipa Nima offer card still in the kit for a comp. keychain? I will know in a few minutes but that want to get it on record. My wife wants another keychain.

Yes, it is. Of course it says "while supplies last". It also says "one per passenger", so I don't know if it means you can only get one during the lifetime of this promo, irrespective of how many first class tickets you fly.

I was my understanding from Christine that it was one per rt flight. I would e-mail now and then they will ask you to attach a copy of your bp. At least you will then be on record. Ours would come out of LAX if they still have.
