Online Travel Booking and Bidding Agencies - Booking NW on Orbitz but want DL miles when flight got rebooked to CO

Background:
1. I booked a R/T ticket LAX – SAT at Orbitz. LAX - ATL-SAT is on DL; SAT-MEM-LAX is on NW. I used my DL SkyMiles number.
2. SAT-MEM-LAX was delayed due to crews issue. NW put me on CO SAT- IAH-LAX.
3. I want to request DL SkyMiles credit on the original SAT-MEM-LAX.

Question:
1. Can I claim SAT-MEM-LAX instead of SAT-IAH-LAX?
2. Who should I request the mileage credit?
3. Can I request credit on websites or I have to call?

1.) Yes, you should be able to do that. Were you rebooked into full Y on CO though? Even though SAT-IAH-LAX is a shorter routing, you still get more miles on that routing if it's a full-Y fare (which is often what happens in irregular operations).

2.) No idea. My guess is Delta, but I'm not sure.

3.) If it is Delta, you can do it online. I regularly do this online and it gets taken care of within 2-3 days.

Just an update for people who might have similar situation in the future.
I called Delta first, and the rep said it's NW flight, and I was tranferred to NW.
NW rep was helpful, but once she heard I want to credit to my DL account, she tranferred me back to Delta.
I felt I was being kicked around between these two. Fortunately, the second DL rep asked me my ticket number and found my record. She told me she will note on my account and it will take up to 2 weeks to receive my credit.
She probaly heard my frustration and thank me for my business. A really nice touch....

Orbitz will only send FQTV information to the airline based on your reservation. If your reservation was originally all on NW, only your NW FQTV info would have been added to the reservation record. So if you now want DL miles when you were re-routed on CO, assuming CO has a reciprocal program with DL, you'll need to send your CO BPs to DL for credit. Orbitz reps will not be able to assist you in this situation.
