But what if i booked my ticket with an online travel agency, do i still need to show them the credit card that was used? this is my first time traveling in an airline that uses e-ticketing so everything is new to me, My aunt purchased this for me as a honeymoon present for me and my fiance, so she booked it with travelocity just 2 days prior our scheduled trip, reading the confirmation email from Travelocity it only stated that i just need to bring a valid ID and a printed copy of my travelocity itinerary.... now im at the airport and i was just viewing airline websites and it just caught my eye that airlines require the credit card that was used to purchase the ticket to be presented at the airline counter... WTH!!!? travelocity never told me that .....getting the credit card is not possible, my flight is tomorrow, im here in the philippines and my aunt is in australia on vacation and i cant call her up cos i only have her home phone number in New Jersey and i dont know wether or not she has a cellphone number...HEEEELLLPP!!!!

Just read your post. Hope by now you have already checked in. If not, here is what I thought.
I have never been asked to show my credit card. I think you will be ok by showing a photo ID (driver license or passport etc..). With your pre-printed e-tickets & boarding passes, you should be fine. When asked to produce the cc, tell them your story.
Good luck.

If it was bought through a travel agency then it should be no problem. Certain airlines (Cathay amongst them) require sight of the credit card used to purchase the ticket IF it was purchased on Cathay's own website, but not if it was purchased through a third party.

I've moved this question from the Asia forum to the Online Travel Booking forum, as it is an issue for many of us when booking our tickets online. I hope that this is all resolved satisfactorily for you. Best of luck.

thanks for the replies, was able to check in, i was a bit nervous when the girl at the airline counter was looking at my printed itinerary and then went over to her manager, I dont know if it was because it was her first time seeing a travelocity print-out or she just didnt know what to do, but just for my information so that i dont look like a total noob in my future flights, if you bought your tickets from an online travel agency like travelocity or expedia do airlines still require you to present the credit card that was used to purchase the flights? or has any of you here experienced being asked for a credit card by the airline eventhough you booked it with an online travel agency?

because personally i dont see the logic, i did business with the travel agency and not with the airlines, why do i have to show my cc again to the airlines because honestly it even increases the risk of fraud because not only does the travel agency have my cc info but presenting it again to the airline counter increases the risk of my cc info being exposed to them as well...jeeez

if you checked in online or at the airport kiosk you don't really have to speak with an agent other than showing them the ID and getting your luggage tagged.
