I know you're not allowed any stopovers on saver awards

But when looking at an award ticket: SYD SIN LAX..... the flight I want from SYD to SIN on a sat morning gets in to SIN on sat afternoon after the LAX flights leaves. So it automatically allows me to select SUN SIN LAX.

However this isn't technially a stopover I suppose due to lack of connecting flight.

My question though, if it's not a stop over, can I have my bags tagged to SIN? And stay over 20 hours.... leave the airport and re checkin the next day?

Or, do I have to remain IN the airport building during this layover?

Thanks in advance

If it is one way Saver then yes no stopovers allowed. If return saver then 1 stopover is allowed. Stopover is defined as any stop over 24 hour .... so anything less than that would be only a transit.

Not sure about the tagging of luggage though, as well as leaving the airport. However surely SIN immigration won't check this, right?

Is OP talking about a Krisflyer redemption? Roundtrip saver is entitled to one free stopover.

Hi

Yes you can - on both issues.

As the connection is less than 24 hours it is not considered a stopover. Yes you are permitted to tag your bags to SIN only and check in the next day. No you do not need to stay in the airport building unless you want to! And some people want to do that too !

As said by the others - less than 24hrs is a transfer not a stopover so you will be fine. Just remember to tell the check in staff in SYD to tag your bags only to SIN
