Ive sent in the following question, dont suppose it will be read out

Considering the recent bizarre cutting of routes you have run for 40 years (Leeds Bradford and Durham Tees Valley) Is the future of bmi at Heathrow only?

anyone else wanting to submit questions email

Opened this thread to keep others updated should he say anything interesting

Small item: I thought Nigel Turner was the Chief Exec and not Chairman...

But hey, what's in a title?

If anyone uses Twitter, Declan Curry is on there and often accepts questions via Twitter.

bbc: Hello, that Mr Turners office?

bmi: Yes why?

bbc: Wondered if he'd come on Working Lunch?

bmi: Hmmm, not sure.

bbc: we promise not to ask any difficult or slightly intelligent questions.

bmi: oh Ok then.

That was a waste of time.

Things I learned

bmi will always be a full service airline!
bmi/virgin/ba all having a pay freeze this year
nigel`s son doesnt let him eat foods with saturated fat in them

Sounds like I missed a really interesting interview, better see if it's on iPlayer

What defines a 'full service' airline these days? Surely to a non-DC member infrequent flyer there's not much difference between bmi and a reasonable (i.e. not Ryanair) LCC.

I guess he doesn't go for the cheese toastie in Y then :D

Actually is Nigel even a Diamond club member? If not then he won't get any food on a single class flight (unless he pays of course).

He probably meant full fare.:D Unfortunately I find that true more often than not so it's not really funny.

Well if that happens. You write in and a few weeks later 2,000 mysterious miles turn up on your account with no letter or email saying sorry ;)

Thats BMI time. AKA Havnt got the time to interact with our Gold level members. ;)

Was it just me or did the Working Lunch interview confirm all of our worst fears?

He is a bumbling buffoon, he does what his son tells him to do, he thinks he runs a full service airline, he thinks he is still in charge?

 Maybe his agent got him this gig, recruitment agent.....not!

It's reorgansation...

Someone skipped media training...

iPlayer link: http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b00hvg2w/Working_Lunch_20_02_2009/ - stars about 15:15 ish, with a brief bit in the beginning

Main points:
2 dropped routes, some new ones
Everyone is out of money
Full service .. we're not like Ryanair (have you been aboard a shorthaul recently?)
Moans about prices and why we do this.
And a bit of cake at the end.
