Well it is all coming to a head.

For those of you who don't know, I think the thread may have been pushed out. Last April I started on my journey towards earning a commission with the United States Navy. This journey started several years ago and was put on hold when a family member was diagnosed with cancer. Once that front was taken care of and things stared to look better I continued my trek towards earning my commission as an officer in the US Navy, to continue the family tradition of serving our country and do one better by not enlisting and earning a commission instead.

This morning I recieved a call from my recruiter saying that I had passed the final mark. My package was selected and the final select letter was on it's way. I should be taking the oath tomorrow or early next week. Following that I have to go through 12 weeks of schooling at The Navy's Officer Candidate School at NAS Newport in Rhode Island. My report date is 10 May.

That being said, March will be my last full month on the line at JetBlue. I may pick up a couple of trips in April but the last half of the month will be spent getting my affairs in order as I will be driving to Newport and have to leave a few days early as I am planning on visiting a few friends along the way.

There is a bit of a wait for follow on school so I might be back for a couple months after I graduate but I won't know that until after i recieve my follow on orders. It's been a pleasure being here and the honor is all mine. I'm sure the other crewmembers here will be more than willing to pick up the slack during my absence.

Congratulations on being accepted!!!

I will miss you here and in the air on commercial flights, but know that I'll be better off having you on the other planes.

Congrats and Thank you, JetBlueFA. While in the sky or online, you have served JetBlue well. What you have provided both inflight and on FT has gone way more appreciated than expressed. I hope the best for you as you start your training at NAS. I hope that you will be able to stay with us here at FT while your in training and there afterwards.

Thank You everybody for all of the well wishes! It has been great fun debating the good and the bad and even more fun since we can actually debate without any fear! I'm continuing on the family tradition of serving our country and I am proud to do it! There has been quite a wait (7-10 months) for follow on orders to report to Pensacola so I might be able to find my way back upon completion of OCS but only time will tell. You'll still have some time to pick my brain and what-not as I won't be leaving Michigan for Newport until the 5th or so of May. Have to make a few stops along the way :D.
