I have two upcoming trips to New Orleans. I need recommendations for dinner. Both upscale and casual, including the famous ones I shouldn't miss.
I haven't been to N.O. for 5 years.
Thanks in advance!

Can't remember where I ate for dinner, but you should definitely stop by Dumond's for breakfast one day.

It's difficult to answer such an open ended question about New Orleans restaurants, since there are so many good ones. My current favorites are Stella (French Quarter), Brigtsen's (Uptown) and Cuvee (CBD) for upscale, and Coop's Place (French Quarter) for a dive bar that serves great food.
Can't remember where I ate for dinner, but you should definitely stop by Dumond's for breakfast one day.Would that be Cafe du Monde?

I highly recommend Stella too. I had breakfast & lunch at Lüke a couple of weeks ago and thought both were wonderful.

Thank you. Stella was on my list as well as Luke.
A trip to NO would not be complete without stopping at Cafe du Monde.

I have to say Commander's Palace. Not only is the food and service outstanding, it offers the real atmosphere of New Orleans. Be sure to order the bread pudding souffle for dessert - unbelievable.

Very true, but I recommend getting there on the early side, perhaps between 8:00 - 8:30 am. I stopped by in December a little after 8:00 am and had no trouble getting a seat. Afterward I walked over to the French Market and could not believe the line when I was heading back down to Canal Street.
