Midwest - Best hotel n St Louis

I hope I'm n the right geographical area. I'm going to St Louis n May & would like to know the best hotel to stay n. Free breakf/a good buffet & internet would be nice.

I'm told that its called Florrissant outside of Normandy. I'm going there for a graduation n May w/ my girlfr,her sister & fiancee. Normandy is where the family lives. We're thinking of getting a dbl rm suite to make it more economical (although I really don't like to share a rm but their wedding is n June so they need to save).
I was told of a Crowne Plaza n Florrissant where the hotels r. My girlfr doesn't mind downtown.

By far and away, I like the Four Seasons in St Louis downtown. It is by far the finest hotel in town; with great service, wonderful food and fabulous rooms. I have seen rates at low as $155.

$155! Wow! I would at least reserve it now. As long as it's not non-refundable if you see a lower rate you can cancel and rereserve. When the weather is nice the outdoor bar area overlooking the arch and river is great.

It sounds like your wedding is on the north side of town and the FS is really not too inconvenient. Normandy is about a 10-15 minute drive out 70 and Florissant is not much further.

The Four Seasons St Louis is by far one of the best luxury hotel values I have found in the world. Have paid ten times that for the Four Seasons Paris and having paid rates very close to that in St Louis for much lessor hotels, I would suggest it is the best deal in the market. The people who work there are very nice and welcoming.

I would absolutely call the hotel reservations (314) 881-5800. I would guess they will do their best to open something up for you unless there is a big convention or other events in town. The Superior room, and probably has a slightly better view, is only an extra $10 per night. Happy travels.

I finally found my way to ur forum & have read all of the reviews. I would just like to know about the location. That doesn't sound too good. Besides cabs, is their public transport. to DT STL? And what comes w/ the "luxurious accomodations"-breakf;etc?

In general, St Louis is much better suited for cabs and cars than public transit. There is a train from the airport, but it is a long walk to any hotel.

Book that hotel, cruise on over to Lumiere for some fun, and then head to the Burger Bar for a kickin' dinner.

I am staying at the Shearaton City Center this weekend, booked it on priceline (bid $48/night) total with taxes for 2 nights $119......Looks to bea nice hotel, any info woudl be appreciated.

I like the Burger bar, really enjoy the food at the hotel bar too. Lumiere is one of the nicest midwest casinos

That hotel is ok. It is fairly central but situated in an odd place. I cannot speak as to the quality of the restaurant or bar. The rooms are fairly large. The ScottTrade Center is just across the street. You've got hockey both days this weekend so the area will be fairly fun and busy.

Not sure what you're looking to do while there. Just a few block south is Lafayette Square. Notable places include 1111 Mississippi, Chocolate Bar, Squires, Ricardo's, etc. A few blocks north is the Washington Blvd strip with plenty of clubs, bars, restaurants. There's also Union Station a few blocks west with its variety of joints.

For blues and other music there are tons of opportunities nearby including: Broadway Oyster Bar, Beale on Broadway, BB's, any bar in Soulard, etc. I can't understate enough the sheer variety of live music available in St. Louis on a nightly basis.

Sightseeing nearby includes Union Station, Arch, Soldier's Memorial, Lacledes Landing. You can take the Metrolink light rail out to the Central West End, Forest Park, or Clayton.

In just playing around w/ some of the other hotels that were on this promo list, it actually seems like they r actually not apart of this & that the FS STL has the best price overall anyway. From the way u talk, this far outweighs the Omni's $89/nite w/breakf. arizonawildcat-I am definitely going to those places. Besides the AMEX Plat, what is the best CC to use here. I know for the RC its the Marriott Visa Sig of which I have. Starwood? AMEX Bus Gold? Is there any CC THAT gives an additional discount/greater benefits? Just curious.
