Does anyone know whether all 14 nights have to be in 1 hotel and it had to be consecutive nights? We are travelling to Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand. And it is 3 night/location. Will it work?

You can't break the stay up among hotels and yes the nights have to be consecutive nights. Some posters have reported success in properties allowing them to leave and return effectively breaking a 6 night stay into two three night stays, but that will be soley at the discretion of the property manager.

And three nights is too few to use the VIP rewards, but if you could do four nights, you could use the AXON award (if you have Hilton's American Express card).

The conditions state: Locate a reward code for the number of points you'd like to redeem, based on the number of nights you choose to stay in a specific hotel. Hotels are arranged into three categories and rewards are from 6 to 14 nights. (If you want to book these rewards for less than 6 nights, please call Customer Service.)

It clearly states that they are for a specific hotel. However, the part in brackets suggests that if you call Customer Services, there may be special rates. That's the way I read it, but I've never heard of anybody getting special VIP award rates for 3 nights. For instance, 3 nights at a Cat 6 hotel is 120,000 points. Let us know if you have any success, as I've recently booked 4 nights in a CAt 6 for 160,000 points. (Sadly don't have access to the AXON award in the UK.)
Also, welcome to Flyertalk.

I think any old Amex will do.

I don't think it suggests special rates. It's rather telling that if you plan to use a 6 day award code for a 5 day stay (which is still cheaper then booking single nights), you'll have to call as it can't be booked online.

I think it has to be the Hilton HHonors Card from American Express card.

" We’d like to see you more, for less.

With your Hilton HHonors Card from American Express, you can redeem for less. Receive 4 HHonors reward nights at Category 5 or 6 Hilton Family hotels worldwide at a special rate exclusively for Cardmembers.10

Call 1-800-920-5649 to redeem a four night stay:

* Category 5 hotels — 125,000 HHonors bonus points (normally 140,000). Mention promo code AXON5.
* Category 6 hotels — 145,000 HHonors bonus points (normally 160,000). Mention promo code AXON6."

I think any old Amex will do.

Have you had success getting an AXON with a non-Hilton Amex ? I have never heard of that happening before.
