Hilton HHonors - Does anyone use Citi HH Visa card?

This card now seems more useless than ever with the new changes from the Amex card. How can Citi still offer such a pathetic card. I got it to get the original bonus and have not used it since. I thought I may use it once in a while to get 6 points but now it lost that advantage. It would be nice if they raised all charges to at least 3 points. This way you could use a visa card when you cannot use Amex. Maybe Citi does not care about this card. Does anyone use it?

Nope, never use it. Signed up for the original bonus. They sent me a new card in the mail last week and I never activated it.

I signed up for it for the original 15,000 bonus with $150 in spending (still waiting for it).

I use my regular (not surpass) HH AMEX

There are a few places that don't take AMEX. Some shops, movie theaters. My TIAA-CREF life insurance is a biggie. Since this card is no-fee I use it to top off my Hilton points at places like that.

I am with you. I use primarily the AMEX card and wherever they don't take AMEX, I use the Citi Hilton Visa card. That way, I am getting Hilton points everywhere I use a credit card.

Me too. It's also the card on my personal PayPal account since my Amex card is locked out when PP closed my previous account (long story, wasn't my error). Every once in a while I think about calling Amex to get a card with a different number but never get around to it. I figure some Hilton points are better than no Hilton points.

I use it occasionally. I find a decent number of vendors that don't accept Amex.

I'm in the camp that never uses the Citi card. When I can't use the Amex, I have other visa/mastercards that I use instead for airline miles or cash back.

That's exactly what I do. There's still some places which don't take Amex. If those places would take Amex, I would definitely use less of the HH Visa. In the meantime .........

I find that there are more places in Europe that will not take AMEX but do take Visa. However Citibank slaps an extra 3% on your Visa card purchases overseas.

I'm in the middle of a switch. I replaced my Delta AmEx with a Worldperks Visa and will soon replace my HH Visa with a HH AmEx.

Mostly where they do not take amex. Other then that I do XMAS on it, since I rarely use it I can actually track what we spend for the holidays.

A good backup for places that don't accept AMEX. But rewards are definitely inferior to AMEX.
