FORT WAYNE, Ind. — Building officials could force the demolition of a half-built Fort Wayne hotel tower because they say major cracks have formed as it sinks into improperly prepared soil.
A hearing is scheduled for next week to determine what to do about the 80-room Homewood Suites by Hilton Hotel near Interstate 69. Allen County Building Commissioner Dave Fuller says the demolition recommendation is meant to prod the owners to make a decision on the building’s fate.
