Hi all,
I'll be flying to Baltimore this summer via Toronto and was wondering how I'd make the connection. More specifically, I was wondering if there was either through-checking for the bags (HKG -> BWI without having to claim in YYZ) and also if I needed to go through Canadian immigration and then US Immigration.
Thanks in advance!

Here's some info about connecting in Toronto: http://www.gtaa.com/en/travellers/connecting/connection_tips/
International to US flights require you to clear both Canadian and US customs, so you will need to collect your bags.

Your bags will be checked through , but you will need to collect them at the belt just prior to US customs and INS.
You will be brought through a special Canadian clearance (not Canada immigration) check-through. But you will need to go through US immigration (and customs) here.
After that, you may then put your already tagged bags on the departing belt.

So they're tagged through to BWI at HKG? I didn't know CX could tag-through onto a *A carrier! That makes things so much easier.
So I get off the plane at YYZ, go through Canadian clearance and then collect my bags off the belt (which already have tags for BWI) and then take the LINK train to T1, and check in at AC?

FFPguy, although your bags will be tagged through, yes you'd still have to pick them up and take them over to T1 where AC flies. Sorry I wasn't thinking and had in my mind the T1 layout where I thought CX also lands at. My mistake!
You would have to take yourself and bag to T1 and check in there. If all the reservations are on one ticket, CX may be able to print even AC's boarding pass ! Yes its possible!

CX operates out of T3 in YYZ and AC from T1. There is no airside transfer from T3 to T1.
You have to clear Canadian Immigration, collect your bag, clear Canadian Custom inspection, catch the shuttle train from T3 to T1 to check-in with AC there. You may expedite the process by web check in for your AC flight in HKG. You will then pre-clear US immigration and custom formalities in YYZ. The process is a lot simpler if you fly AC from HKG. You may bypass Canadian immigration and custom, or at least a simplified process.
