Budget - What happens if I dont cancel my reservation...

I booked thru Southwest Rapid Rewards and saved 40% but I had to give my credit card info...the small prints says I have to cancel within 24 hrs or am "subject to one day rental fees". Does anyone know if Budget actually follows thru on this? I have never made a car reservation and had to give me CC info until now.

Yes, cancel or take a chance to be charged for one day. Murphy's Law says: "Even if they never followed thru before and charged anyone, you will be the first". And, if they do and it is so clearly indicated on your confirmation that they can, you will have no recourse if they do.

On Delta's website they also ask for credit card info when making a booking, but they don't mention anything about cancellation penalties. I wonder if they would also charge you if you cancelled?? Budget doesn't require credit card when making booking.

I've seen Dollar require it, but it's purely to "secure intent". The theory being if you're actually going to take the time to input your credit card info then you're that much more serious about actually picking up the car, not just making a booking for fun or as back-up #3, 4, 5......
