You get to know your company when things go wrong, in this case Thrifty stepped up to the plate.
I managed to lock my car keys & luggage into a convertible at SNA when picking up my vehicle after many hours of flying. It took until the next day until they were able to get the car opened but in the meantime I received another car and experienced the best service once could wish for. Friendly, helpful, and giving me regular updates on their progress.
Fortunately, there was a survey after the rental and I wrote several paragraphs to compliment them on the team at SNA. If this is typical of how Thrifty works I'll try to book them more often.
