Do any Aussie airports still offer lockers?

And if so, how long can you store a bag there (a few days or less?)

thanks,

I believe all of the in-aiport baggage lockers have been shut down. They have been replaced by much more expensive baggage storage services (store-fronts); at SYD this is priced by bag size and roughly 3-4x the former locker price. The Central railway station in Sydney still has lockers, and is 15 min away by train, so that is an off-airport alternative (sadly none of the other airports has it).

There are quite a few lockers at the Melbourne Skybus depot ~25 minutes from the airport.

Additionally the Brisbane Transit Centre (http://www.countrylink.info/travelling_with_us/luggage) (connected to Roma St (http://www.citytrain.com.au/stations/station_details/roma_street.asp) station) has lockers, as does Central Station. You can take the Airtrain (http://www.airtrain.com.au/) from the airport to get there.

Alternatively, there are some lockers near DFO, in the Airport Village (http://www.bne.com.au/content/standard_v4.asp?name=TheBigVision_OverviewAirportV illage). There is a free bus between the International Terminal and DFO.

$10 bux a day for the larger bin that would fit a checked in bag. Kinda steep...

No they don't, according to their website.

The cloak room and lockers at Sydney's Central Station are closed until further notice. This is part of an increased security measure undertaken to enhance your safety as well as that of our staff.

FYI from someone who recently utilised those storage facilities at both Sydney and Melbourne, it's $15 per suitcase per day at both facilities. Quite steep, really, but I couldn't be bothered carrying my suitcase to the hotel, even though I was going there by taxi.

Sydney T3 (Qantas domestic terminal) does have a booth as well, although I couldn't find any reference to it on Sydney Airport website (by carousel 5 from memory). Melbourne one is right at the end of the International terminal border with the domestic terminal.

Sydney T3 one has a hotel board nearby (about 2 metres away from the luggage storage). Have a look there for 3 days' storage for the price of 2 offer there.

http://www.cityrail.info/facilities/facilities.jsp?n=61&giveOutput=true&facility=Is the web site accurate? It was open a few months ago (last time I used it). Perhaps someone who is SYD based can verify that it is indeed closed. It was open even after the Bali bombings (and the threat level is lower now).
