Flying TLV-ZRH-JFK during Chol Hamoed. 1st leg is Swiss, 2nd AA.

Anyone have experiences with the Kosher meals during Pesach. Anything to worry about?

Never traveled on Pesach but I would take along my own food (always a good idea). Once the meal is served based on the hechsher I would decide if I will eat it or not.

That much I know. Just wondering if anyone has experience.

I once flew BA after Pesach, and they gave me a Kosher for Pesach meal (guess they had a few left)

For whom?

Do they contain Kitnios?

whose heckshar?

I dont trust the reg Kashrus all yr long, I highly doubt Id eat anything from them over Pesach. Its either Glatt Bedatz or nothing for me, and yes that Glatt meal is pretty aweful but better then the long life meals out of Europe all yr long.

If you order a Glatt Badatz meal you will get that even on chol hamoed Pesach Kosher Lepesach. It's up to you if that Hechsher is acceptable you.

Nowadays all kosher meals ex-TLV on LX, LH and BA are Bedatz (Hamasbia), unless you are in F - which LX does not have ex-TLV. So your meal ex-TLV will be bedatz, and thus are reliable. Shame about the taste though, especially breakfast meals (dinners are fine)...

Ex ZRH I suspect you will get a meal from Schalom Aircatering, which is under Rabbi Schneelbag (?) of Edgware in the UK (even though it is made in Zurich). I think this is reliable. You may also get a meal from Lugano - have had that on foreign carriers ex-ZRH, which is very strict. I don't recall if it's under the Bet Din of Lugano or Milan. You could also get a Stogel long-life meal, which is certainly kosher, but not neccessarilly edible..

How long a life? From which pesach actually ?

Seriously, though, thanks for the assistance.

I have only travelled once many years ago on Chol hamoed with VS and got a pesach ermolis meal.

In fact I received pesach meals in BA CW both to and from IAH last year 3 weeks after pesach - not so good!

I would take food as a back up just in case.

My record is 5 months after Pesach for a Pesach Borenstein meal (from CLT, in LH C class). Most disappoiting, especially as the hot kosher rolls/bagels (packaged separately from the meal and double-wrapped) are one of the highlights of the C class LH kosher meals from the US....
