Hilton HHonors - Changes to HHonors Amex earning structure?

I find it hard to believe that this hasn't been discussed here yet, but after reading 5 pages of posts and the search feature not working at all, I can't find any mention:

From the Amex website it looks like the HHonors Amex card will now earn 6 points per dollar at gas stations, supermarkets, etc, but it looks like the downside is that restaurants are now excluded from the group? Is this correct?

Yes, go download your Jan statement its on the last page with the upcoming changes to terms, its no longer to be named Platinum too heh.. USPS purchases are out too big bummer for me.
