Hilton HHonors - Hilton Honors Amex

I got a brochure in the mail today with some new benefits on my Hilton Amex card.

You can now hit Gold status by spending 20K a year.


It had some discounts for 4 nights at a category 5 or 6 hotel for 15,000 less miles using codes AXON5 and AXON6 but when I tried to use the codes the person at hitlon honors told me Amex put that out by mistake and it wasn't available yet.

Does anyone know when (or if) these codes will work ?

Use the current code, AXON. It lets you get 4 nights at a level 6 property for 125K points. It's a better deal than the upcoming AXON6.

This has been the case for a while. I've been Gold this way for 2+ years now.

New Amex "Surpass" card will give Diamond for $40K annual spending.

In mine that was one of the few pages that wasn't marked as being changed. The table of contents had an indicator for changes on all but about 2 pages.

It is your regular Hilton Amex card. They recently dropped the word Platinum from the regular Hilton card.

Take a close look at your next statement. At the end you should find a line stating something like "Your qualifying Year-to-Date spend on your Hilton HHonors Platinum Credit Card is $x,xxx.xx. To qualify for Hilton HHonors Gold VIP Status, you need to have $20,000 in qualified spend by December 31st."

Thanks but I plan on staying at the Hilton Clearwater resort and they are level 5. Any discount codes for level 5's ?

This Amex card is part of the "Optima" family. You are referring to the same card. The new card is brown while the older one is blue w/grey sides.
