My wife and I are flying from MLE-LHR via SIN later this month. We could check our luggage all the way through from MLE to LHR, but as we have a 5 hour connection we'd be in no hurry in SIN.
As we are travelling on the A380 in the suites I was wondering, as we have a long time in SIN, would it be worth collecting our luggage are re-checking. What are the ground services like for R Class passengers in SIN? Would we get 'special' A380 R Class baggage tags etc. As this may be the only time we get to travel in R Class just want to make the most of it:)
thanks all

I would recommend checking your bags all the way to LHR. There really is no special treatment when checking in for R in SIN.
You will however be able to access the "Private Room" section of the F lounge at T3.
If you're in need of a nap, the F lounge in T2 has slumber rooms.

SQ is good (esp at SIN) at retagging bags if needed without any customer input. I wouldn't bother with the hassle of immigration and rechecking. Enjoy the private room (assuming not on an award) at SIN.

There is a separate Suites priority luggage tags as far as I'm aware, but they may well attach that at MLE anyway. Other than that, the only other relevant "experience" is the F-class dedicated check-in area, where the porters offload the luggage from the car and you check-in at a dedicated check-in lounge, but it is really only relevant when coming in from Singapore city centre. You will however be able to access the "Private Room" section of the F lounge at T3.Not if the OP is on a reward ticket after equipment change, according to more recent reports.

I thought there aren't any R class award ticket redemptions?

There isn't.
But those who were confirmed and ticketed, including award tickets, on a 744 flight were automatically reaccommodated on the A380 in R when the equipment changed back in June.
Also, those ticketeted and confirmed, including award tickets, on the SQ308/SQ319 that were recently cancelled were also reaccommodated on the other A380 flights in R.

Unfortunately I'm in R Class as a conequence of our 744 flight being cancelled. So no PR then:td:

Trust me. You're not missing much. It's the F lounge with some nicer chairs, a view outside and a dining section. Both are very, very, very boring.

One more thing to add: Most, if not all stations have R class tags and boarding passes, even if the 380 doesn't serve it.

Check your R boarding pass, it may have a PR invitation printed on there anyway...
