Not sure if anyone else uses this service. I happened to go into today, probably the first time I've accessed my briefcase in a year or two. There is a notice that they are closing the service, hence removing access to the files, on March 30, 2009. I wish GDrive was ready.

From what I remember in the old days, Yahoo Briefcase was a haven for pirated files.

I've been using it extensively. It's been a royal PITA to download all my files now that it's closing, because you can't download full folders. You have to go into each folder, select all the files, then download (it packages them into a zip file).

Even though it was not FTP, it was a good service.

Thoughts on alternatives?

Sheesh, I didn't realize that. I right-click-save-as'ed on every file.

There are a lot of free/low cost online file storage services out there...xdrive comes to mind. A google search will probably reveal scores more.

Thank you for having been an Xdrive user.

Doh! There are a lot of other choices too.

Or you can use JungleDisk, which runs off of Amazon's storage service. It's very cheap (I backup my dad's office - the bill is about $1/month for 5-6 GB.
